Error description

When we override session management and have a custom session
cookie setting for an application, say CUSTOMSESSIONID, the
custom cookie is not used when the application is run after its

state is changed from inactive to validation mode. Instead, the

default cookie name, JSESSIONID, is used. This will cause
breaks in session affinity whenever an application is tested
across active and validation modes.

Local fix

Once the application state is changed from inactive to
validation mode, "Override session management" settings have to

be reconfigured appropriately

When a web module is remapped to a new server in a
multi-server environment, any Session Management Configuration
settings that have been overridden at the Application or Web
Module level are not carried over after the remapping occurs.

Problem conclusion

A post-deployment task has been added to automatically re-add
the Session Management Configuration settings when a module is
remapped. This is activated by setting the Deployment Manager
JVM Custom Property:
com.ibm.ws.session.updateSessionConfigOnEdit. This post
deployment task is currently targeted for inclusion in
Websphere Application Server Fix packs 7.0.0.39, 8.0.0.11 and
8.5.5.6.
