Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server users of * * JAX-WS web services. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The JVM property * * "com.ibm.ws.websvcs.attachments.sizethr * * eshold" may not work properly in some * * large memory environments. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack containing this APAR. * **************************************************************** There is a JVM property "com.ibm.ws.websvcs.attachments.sizeThreshold" which allows users to set the attachment's threshold value in bytes on the JAX-WS client or service. If an attachment's size is below the property's value, then the JAX-WS engine writes the attachment to memory. If the attachment's size exceeds the value, then the engine caches the attachment to a file on the disk. In some large memory environments, this threshold JVM property "com.ibm.ws.websvcs.attachments.sizethreshold" may not work properly.
Problem conclusion
Fixed the problem to make sure the JVM property "com.ibm.ws.websvcs.attachments.sizethreshold" works properly. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.11 and 8.5.5.7.
