    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When doing the testConnection from wsadmin against a
    datasource with the primary database down, the testConnection
    operation is reported as failed as below :
    wsadmin>AdminControl.testConnection(AdminConfig.getid('/DataSour
    ce:db2ds/'))
    'WASX7388E: Connection to provided datasource failed.'
    During the testConnection operation, when the connection gets
    re-routed to the secondary database, the WebSphere RRA
    (adapter) component logs the warning DSRA8043W to indicatate
    that the connection has been re-routed. This warning is
    considered as a failure and hence the wsadmin treats the
    warning as a failure.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere RRA (adapter) component has been updated to
    ensure that the client re-route warning does not impact the
    testConnection outcome.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.0.0.12 and 8.5.5.8. Please refer to the
