Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: ALL * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IGNORE CACHING HEADER FOR THE FORWARD * * PROXY SECURE REQUESTS * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In SSL tunneling (forward proxy secure request), encrypted data is passed through the proxy server unaltered. Because the proxy server does not unencrypt the data, functions that require the proxy server to read requests or document headers are not supported in SSL tunneling. Also, tunneled requests are not cached. Before the fix, if Range header is set to "0-", Caching proxy will try to read the whole request. In this case this is not allowed and the request will fail. As part of the fix, we have disabled the caching for this type of request. This will make sure the request will be fulfiled without caching.
Problem conclusion
We have disabled the caching for forward proxy secure requests. This will make sure the request will be fulfiled without caching. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 8.5.5.8, 8.0.0.12 and 7.0.0.16
