Error description
Customer attempted to use WOLA OTMA with transaction support to IMS and enabled ola_rrs_context_propagate_otma. The user sees this exception: BBOA7102E Error in OTMA_SEND_RECEIVEX call. Rc/Rsn: 00000008 0000004C
Local fix
Two workarounds exist: 1) If the app does not require RRS transactional support, disable ola_rrs_context_propagate_otma and RRSTransactional 2) Change the OTMA Sync Level to 0. This can be set in the app with the call setOTMASyncLevel("0"), or via the connection factory as property OTMASyncLevel=0. The call in the app will override the value of the connection factory property.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server for z/OS 8.0 and 8.5 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message BBOA7102E Error in * * OTMA_SEND_RECEIVEX call. * * Rc/Rsn: 00000008 0000004C is seen in * * the servant region output when * * variable * * ola_rrs_context_propagate_otma is set. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The WOLA OTMA implementation is setting the wrong value for the 'sync on return' property to OTMA. This makes it impossible to use 'sync level 1' when ola_rrs_context_propagate_otma is set. Message BBOA7102E will report the error in the servant region output.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to set the correct value for the 'sync on return' property when calling OTMA. APAR PI44494 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 8.0.0.12, and 8.5.5.8 of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS. Sysroute APAR PI48385 will be used to deliver the fix in Fix Pack 7.0.0.41 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0 for z/OS.
