Error description
When you update the log_root environment variable in WebSphere Application Server all WebSphere logs, such as SystemOut, SystemErr files etc. are moved correctly to the new location after a restart, but two log files - the btrace and objects file, are not moved. They are still created in the old location. . This problem was reported in WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5.3.

The btrace and objects log files are always written to the log directory under the server profile.
Problem conclusion
The code was changed to respect the value of the SERVER_LOG_ROOT environment variable for the directory used when writing the btrace and objects log files. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.8.
