APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Websphere Application Server version 8.5, when using
  Transaction Traces together with Batch-Jobs the following kind
  of exception may occur:

Local fix

• To workaround the problem, please disable transaction traces on
  the server in question. This should prevent the
  NullPointerExceptions from occuring.
  

Problem summary

  When JTA transaction tracing is enabled, the TerminatorImpl
  constructor throws a NullPointerException when exiting from
  the method.
  

Problem conclusion

• To correct this problem, we now prevent referencing of a null
  object when exiting from class contructor.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.8.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
