• A SocketException can occur when running on AIX and using the
  adivsors.

  The reach advisor (which is run when any advisor is started)
  may have a reference to an old socket and issues a close on
  the socket. If this socket is in use by the RMI connection,
  you will get a socketexception trying to run the manager
  stop.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code was corrected so that the reach advisor takes advantage
  of java methods and does not risk having references to
  closed sockets.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.8.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
  page for delivery information:
