Error description

  • When an application is started, if CDI is enabled, then CDI
should validate all JEE Component Classes which support
injection and publish the appropriate CDI lifecycle events.
The code only did this for a sub-set of the most comment
classes. This fix expands the set out to almost all JEE
Component Classes. Note that this additional validation
could cause an application to no longer start if it contains
invalid classes, even if they are not used at runtime.

When an application is started, if CDI is enabled, then CDI
should validate all JEE Component Classes which support
injection and publish the appropriate CDI lifecycle events. The
8.5.5.6 code only did this for a sub-set of the most common
    classes.

Problem conclusion

  • This fix expands the set out to almost all JEE Component
Classes. Note that this additional validation could cause an
application to no longer start if it contains invalid classes,
even if they are not used at runtime.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 8.5.5.7. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
