Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise * * component of Websphere Application Server * * Network Deployment edition who have a star * * topology with a center cell and one or * * more point cells. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an application server which is a * * member of a cluster in a point cell * * is restarted, On Demand Router does * * not route to applications deployed in * * the restarted server properly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When an application server in a point cell is restarted, On Demand Router(ODR) adds other servers in addition to the restarted server as targets for applications deployed on the restarted server even if the other servers don't host the applications. And now, when a request meant to be handled by the application in the restarted server is sent, ODR can route it to any server irrespective of whether the server hosts the application or not. This is due to a flaw in our code.
Problem conclusion
We have fixed the code to add the right servers as targets. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
