APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• javax.management.InstanceNotFOundException was thrown when
  performing an ear expansion to its binary location in a z/OS
  environment with the server being shutdown.

  Application distribution failed for an application update on
  z/OS with the following scenario:
   óÔÇö ¥performed update to a group of running applications
   óÔÇö ¥saved the configuration
   óÔÇö ¥stopped the server where the applications were running wh
  the application distribution was still going on
  The server stop killed the servant region of the server but not
  the application MBeans, which resided in the control region.
  As a result, when an application MBean was queried, the MBean
  belonging to the application was returned. However, a
  subsequent call to its method failed with
  javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException on the servant.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code is fixed to catch the exception and allow application
  expansion to continue.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.8.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
  page for delivery information:
