Error description

• When a URL request is audited for valid values, there should be
  more detail than today's
  current:java.lang.IllegalArgumentException.   There are
  multiple things that could be wrong and sharing some additional
  detail on why the URI was an illegal argument would be more
  helpful information.

  The WAS utility that parses URLs checks for illegal URL
  structure, particularly URLs that escape ("..") past their
  point of origin, and throws an IllegalStateException if this
  occurs.  The exception text includes the URL but does
  not specify why the exception was thrown.
  

Problem conclusion

• Additional explanatory text was added to the message field of
  the IllegalStateException.
  
  APAR PI50904 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Pack
  8.5.5.10 of WebSphere Application Server.
