When the
com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.removeTrailingServletPathSlash custom
property is set to true, a
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException might be thrown when
submitting requests to the application's context root without
a trailing slash. The following is an example of the stack

Problem conclusion

The WebContainer code was modified to avoid throwing the
exception and process the request to the default servlet
correctly.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.0.0.13 and 8.5.5.10 for WebSphere Application
Server and 16.0.0.2 for WebSphere Liberty.
