Local fix
If possible, remove definition for this variable or set it to false (default). This variable was introduced at 8.0.0.4 and 8.5.0.1. com.ibm.ws.cdi.immediate.ejb.start=false
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 and V8.5 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NullPointerException when * * com.ibm.ws.cdi.immediate.ejb.start=true * * * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A null pointer exception can be seen coming from ResourceInjectionServiceImpl when com.ibm.ws.cdi.immediate.ejb.start=true
Problem conclusion
The code path that is travelled when com.ibm.ws.cdi.immediate.ejb.start=true was modified to set an additional variable in ResourceInjectionServiceImpl so it will not be null when it is needed. APAR PI51620 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 8.0.0.13 and 8.5.5.11 of WebSphere Application Server.
