Error description
DeltaSpike scheduler module is unable to import weld context classes.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile - Contexts and * * Dependency Injection (CDI) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A couple of weld packages were exported * * so that the DeltaSpike Scheduler can be * * supported * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DeltaSpike scheduler module is unable to import weld context classes
Problem conclusion
When using the DeltaSpike Sheduler module, a ClassNotFound exception was thrown as the scheduler module directly imports a couple of CDI implementation packages: org.jboss.weld.context and org.jboss.weld.context.bound. The fix is to export these packages as Third Party APIs. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.8. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
Temporary fix
The workaround is to copy the Weld OSGi bundle (name starting with com.ibm.ws.weld-osgi-bundle), from the Liberty installation 'lib' directory to a different folder and then make that folder as a shared library. Please refer to IBM Knowledge Center (https://www- 01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSD28V_8.5.5/com.ibm.webspher e.wlp.core.doc/ae/cwlp_sharedlibrary.html) for more details.
