Error description

  • When using a Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI) extension
    to create a WrapperBean which chooses a bean to create, the
    created bean injects an InjectionPoint, resulting in the
    following error:

    This issue was first noticed in WebSphere 8.0.0.11 and occurs
    on startup of the application.

    NullInjectionPointImpl is an internal class, it should
    never be seen in application code
    

Problem conclusion

  • An additoinal check was added to a different code path that
    detects NullInjectionPointImpl objects and replaces them with
    null.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.5.5.10 and 8.0.0.13.  Please refer to the
