    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A memory leak can occur in a *
    * static HashMap in class *
    *                      com.ibm.ws.cscope.CScopeSubordImpl      *
    * leading to an ever increasing heap *
    *                      size                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a subordinate compensation scope completed without having
    been propagated on a request or a compensator registered with
    it, it mis-identified its state as being in a loop-back
    completion condition and postponed completion until the
    loop-back unwound. This would never occur, since it was not a
    loop-back completion and hence a memory leak would occur.

Problem conclusion

  • The compensation service was modified to complete the
    subordinate compensation scope correctly and perform the
    cleanup of the entry in the HashMap.
