    ****************************************************************
The HTTP Channel should throw an IOException when an inbound
connection is closed while still in use by the servlet, so the
application can handle the connection being closed.

Problem conclusion

  • The HTTP Channel will now throw an IOException if an inbound
connection is closed while still in use by the servlet.

A new custom property was added to the HTTP Channel to enable
this new behavior. The property name is:

    "ThrowIOEForInboundConnections" with a possible
value of "true" or "false", with the default being "false".

To enable the new behavior add the following configuration
option in the HTTP endpoint section of the server.xml

      <httpOptions ThrowIOEForInboundConnections="true"/>

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 8.5.5.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
    delivery information:
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980

Note that an IOException can not be thrown to a Java Server
Page (JSP) regardless of the ThrowIOEForInboundConnections
    setting.
