Error description

  • NCSA access log directive %{R}W represents the service time of
    the request, from the moment the request is received until the
    first set of bytes of the response are sent. This should work
    whether %{R}W or "%{R}W" (%{R}W in quotes) is used. But,
    "%{R}W" causes the log to contain the characters "%{R}W"
    instead of the time value. Using %{R}W without the quotes
    works as expected.

Local fix

  • Use %{R}W instead of "%{R}W"

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Quoted Access Log options using curly *
    *                      brackets '{ }' are not working.         *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The documentation for the HTTP Channel's 'accessLogFormat'
    specifies, "each option can be enclosed in quotation marks,
    but the quotation marks are not required". However, when an
    option that uses curly brackets is enclosed in quotation
    marks, the resulting logged line shows the name of the quoted
    option, rather than showing the expected value. For instance,
    for "%{User-agent}i", an expected result might read:
    "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0)
    Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0"
    Instead, the resultshows the option name: "%{User-agent}i".
