Problem summary

    *                      a thread may be hung in the             *
    *                      com.ibm.ws.cscope.RecoveryManager       *
    *                      class                                   *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Synchronization in the CScope RecoveryManager class is
    performed both using an intrinsic lock on the RecoveryManager
    instance and a wait/notifyAll pattern on another internal
    object. The thread holding the intrinsic lock waited for the
    notify.  The thread that would post the notify was blocked
    trying to obtain the intrinsic lock.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The synchronization within the CScope RecoveryManager was
    modified so that the condition can no longer occur.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.5.5.13 and 9.0.0.5.  Please refer to the
