Error description
When a user creates a new MailSession via the Admin Console and clicks the "View administrative scripting command for last action" link, the generated script is incomplete. Specifically, the script is missing the "mailTransportProtocol" attribute. Attempting to use the script as-is in wsadmin results in binding issues at startup for that MailSession. Instead, the script should include the "mailTransportProtocol" attribute with a value set to the config id of the protocolProviders config object that equates to the protocol the user chose in the Admin Consolel panel.
Local fix
Users can manually add the "mailTransportProtocol" attribute and value to the wsadmin MailSession create command. The attribute would look like this if you wanted to use the protocol called "builtin_smtp": [mailTransportProtocol "(cells/myCell/nodes/myNode/servers/server1|resources.xml#builti n_smtp)"]
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * * V8.0, V8.5, and V9 who want to use the * * command * * assistance string provided by the command * * assistance window when a new mail session * * is * * created/modified. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a user creates a new mail session * * and looks at the command assistance * * string, the 'mailTransportProtocol' * * attribute is not included in the * * command * * string. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a user wants to creates a mail session and looks at the command assistance string provided by the console, the 'mailTransportProtocol' attribute is not included. This attribute should be included in the command assistance string because it is a parameter that can be modified by the user on the console. The command assistance string should always reflect what paramaters were modified on the console.
Problem conclusion
The 'mailTransportProtocol' is now displayed on the command assistance string. This way a user can copy it and use it to call the command in wsadmin.
