Error description
Using WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment edition V8.0.0.10 on Linux, it was observed the following error messages and limitations when using the wsadmin API AdminTask.exportSAMLSpMetadata. The API will only look at the cell scope.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server users of * * SAML Web Single sign-on feature * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When exporting SAML service provider * * metadata, the wsadmin command * * AdminTask.exportSAMLSpMetadata may * * fail. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that includes this APAR * **************************************************************** If the SAML TAI custom property sso_
.sp.keyStore defines a keystore that has a non-default management scope, the SAML wsadmin command exportSAMLSpMetadata may fail with the following exception: com.ibm.websphere.management.cmdframework.CommandException: The keyStores name scopeTest and scopeName (cell):test1Cell is not found
Problem conclusion
Ths problem occurred because the SAML TAI assumed that the managed keystore specified by the custom property sso_
.sp.Keystore uses the default management scope, which may not be true. The problem occurs if the custom property sso_
.sp.keyStore is defined as follows: 1. <sso_
.sp.keyStore="keystore1", where the management scope of keystore1 is not the default cell scope. 2. <sso_
/sp.keyStore="name=keystore1 managementScope=scope1" The problem was fixed by updating the SAML TAI to use the management scope specified by the managementScope value in the <sso_
.sp.keyStore custom property, instead of using the default management scope. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.13, 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.1.
