    ****************************************************************
A memory leak occurs when processing applications which
    contain security related annotations.
The memory leak occurs when processing the annotations
    javax.annotation.security.DeclareRoles
    javax.annotation.security.RolesAllowed
    javax.annotation.security.DenyAll
    javax.annotation.security.PermitAll
    javax.annotation.security.RunAs
These annotations can be used by web modules and by EJB
    modules.
The memory leak can occur both when deploying applications and
    when starting applications.
The problem does not occur for applications which contain the
specified annotations but which are marked as metadata-
    complete.

Problem conclusion

  • The memory leak occurred because of static reference to
security metadata which was retained even after annotation
processing completes. The problem was fixed by a code update
which removed the static references to security metadata.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.43. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:

This problem does not occur in IBM WebSphere Application
Server v8.0, or in any subsequent fix pack or release.
