Error description

  • ./_setupDefaultSDK fails after IBM i R730 upgrade when JDK 1.6
    is in use.

    /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V85/Express/bin/sdk/_setupsdk
    1.6_32.
    No such path or directory.

Local fix

  • Manually edit the following file.
    
    <profile_root>/profiles/<profile_name>/bin/sdk/_setupsdk file
    Change the value of PROFILE_COMMAND_SDK from 1.6_32 or 1.6_64 to
     a newer SDK level.

    On IBM i, the _setupDefaultSDK command may result in the
    following error:
    001-0023 Error found opening file
    /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V85/Express/bin/sdk/_setupsdk
    1.6_32. No such path or directory
    

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere Application Server is fixed to prevent the error
    in the _setupDefaultSDK command. Please see The Recommendation
    section for additional steps.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.10.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
