Error description

NullPointerException in com.ibm.ejs.ras.Tr.formatObj using
trace in thin client if a null message String is used.

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NullPointerException occurs in the      *
*                      thin client if the message value is     *
*                      null                                    *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

The thin client version of com.ibm.ejs.ras.Tr does not check
for
a null value for the message and results in a
NullPointerException.

Problem conclusion

The programming error was fixed so that if a null message is
specified when using thin client trace, the trace entry is
generated with an empty value for the message and a
NullPointerException does not occur.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.0.0.13, 8.5.5.11 and 9.0.0.2.  Please refer to the
