Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server using the JVM argument * * XX:+AggressiveOpts * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the JVM argument * * XX:+AggressiveOpts on some operating * * systems and java releases you will get * * a UnsupportedOperationException * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When using the JVM argument XX:+AggressiveOpts on some systems and java releases, you will encounter the error: J2CA0009E: An exception occurred while trying to instantiate the ManagedConnectionFactory class com.ibm.ws.rsadapter.spi.WSManagedConnectionFactoryImpl used by resource jdbc/datasource_name : java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException at java.util.AbstractMap$SimpleImmutableEntry.setValue(AbstractMap. java:759) at com.ibm.ejs.j2c.CommonFunction.hidePasswords(CommonFunction.java :175) A workaround for this problem is to remove the JVM argument.
Problem conclusion
The code was fixed so that the exception will no longer occur when running with the JVM argument. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.12 and 9.0.0.3 in traditional WebSphere and 17.0.0.1 in WebSphere Liberty.
