Error description

For WebSphere Application Server Liberty with the Java
Authentication SPI for Containers (JASPIC) user feature
enabled with a
javax.security.auth.message.module.ServerAuthModule
implementation that wraps the HTTP request or response
objects in a javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequestWrapper or
in a javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponseWrapper instance,
when an application has been configured with a web filter
mapped to a URL pattern, either dynamically, using the
@WebFilter annotation, or in the deployment descriptor, the
web filter does not receive the wrapped request or the
wrapped response.

For WebSphere Application Server Liberty with the Java
Authentication SPI for Containers (JASPIC) user feature enabled
with a javax.security.auth.message.module.ServerAuthModule
implementation that wraps the HTTP request or response objects
in a javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequestWrapper or in a
javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponseWrapper instance, when an
application has been configured with a web filter mapped to a
URL pattern, either dynamically, using the @WebFilter
annotation, or in the deployment descriptor, the web filter does
not receive the wrapped request or the wrapped response.

Problem conclusion

The code was modified to correctly pass the wrapped HTTP request
and response to the application declared web filters that are
mapped to a URL pattern.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 17.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for

Temporary fix

Map the web filter to a specific servlet name.
