  When this error occurs, the datasource with the error will use
  the default version information.  The datasource is not
  impacted by this xml error.
  

Problem conclusion

• This fix is mainly to avoid the error and to process getting
  the version information with new apis.  This should avoid the
  xml failure and the logging of the error.   If both fail, we
  will default the value without logging the error, since this
  information does not prevent the datasource from being used.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 9.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
