APAR status

Error description

  • Due to a timing issue, sometimes APC will lose server
    information, affecting its ability to make placements.  In a
    multicell topology, the APC gets notifications from the cell
    agent.  The purpose of the cell agent is in multicell
    topologies...adding a new cell or removing a
    cell...monitoring
    that activity...and it seems like it may be sending a remove
    cel message to the APC to remove the cell.

    Application placement Controller stops taking placement actions
    after restarting some of the cell members.  The restarting of
    the members caused the Application Placement Controller (APC) to
    clear the information of the cluster in the cell.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The product issue has been identified and fixed.  The fix has
    been put into Application Placement Controller.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 8.5.5.12.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
