Error description

  • After STOP was issued, app server received an abend 00C
    RC 060B0000 and ABEND 0C4:

    Program id: 5752SCXCF
    Load module name: IXCI2LPA
    Csect name: IXCG2STB
    System abend code: 000C

    XCG2STB,ABEND=S00C4,REASON=00000011,USERERR=0101

The 0C4 was issued because the Performance block storage was
released by WLM just prior to an SRB ran in the Controller.
It's a very small timing window when the controller is almost
gone - only 5 TCBs still running for the ASID.

    ****************************************************************
WebSphere has a XCF DCF Group exit (bbooxcgx) that attempts to
drop an ACRW on our work queue. A WLM Performance Block
(PB) is obtained on this flow. The WLM storage associated with
these PBs are cleaned up during termination. The 0C4 occurred
in the small window after a WLM Task-level Resmgr
released the storage and before the address space completed
termination. Just prior to this window an SRB was scheduled
to drive the XCF exit. By the time our XCF exit received
control WLM released the PB related storage. This lead to
the ABEND 0C4 in the exit code.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been modified to disable the use of the WLM
Performance Blocks prior to the server entering its final
    termination step.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
    pack 7.0.0.45, 8.0.0.14, 8.5.5.13, and 9.0.0.5
