PI82510: LIBERTY APPSERVER AUTOMATICALLY DECOMPRESSES THE BODIES OF INCOMING HTTP-SOAP MESSAGES

Error description

The customer is migrating to Liberty 16.0.0.3. The are
noticing
that body of incoming http-soap message is automatically
decompressed and this is causing issue with header which
still
shows compressed.

Local fix

If you do not wish to let the server take care of compression
for you there is an option to disable it. It would be enabled
like this:

<httpOptions AutoDecompression="false" />

With that set to false it will tell the server to not
decompress the body when it reads it, instead just passing it
back to the servlet.

The auto decompression option of the HTTP Channel, set to true
by default, is not documented in the Knowledge Center.

Problem conclusion

The documentation was modified to include details on the auto
decompression option. This new information will be included
under the "httpOptions" topic.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 17.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
