Error description

The concurrent map implementation used by the WebContainer
can result in performance bottlenecks in high-concurrency
workloads.  This can result in a high amount of blocking on
a SynchronizedMap in WebApp.java.

The concurrent map implementation used by the WebContainer can
result in performance bottlenecks in high-concurrency workloads.
This can result in a high amount of blocking on a
SynchronizedMap in the WebContainer code.

Problem conclusion

The WebContainer code has been updated to utilize a higher-
throughput concurrent map implementation.  In order to enable
this performance improvement by default, the default value for
the com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.removeAttributeForNullObject custom
property in the WebContainer has been switched from "false" to
"true".  This new default behavior reflects the behavior defined
in the Servlet specification.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 9.0.0.5 for WebSphere Application Server Traditional, and
fix pack 17.0.0.4 for WebSphere Application Server Liberty.
