PI83742: GROUP ID FOR CELLS IN PRODUCT INSIGHST CONTAINS WRONG DMGR HOST

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Product Insights creates a unique group ID for the cell by
adding the node name and the hostname of the dmgr to the ID so
that two cells with the same name appear as separate groups in
    the UI.

There is a bug in generating the ID. Instead of the hostname
of the dmgr the hostname of the node is used. If you have a
cell with 2 nodes on different machines you get two cell
groups instead of one because each node is using it's own
    hostname.

Problem conclusion

  • The Product Insights group identifier has been corrected so
that all servers in the same cell will be in a single group.
