The JAX-RS code caches application metadata in order to improve
the performance when obtaining a CDI BeanManager.  If the
application related to this metadata is stopped, the cache could
still retain a reference to the metadata which contains, among
other things, a reference to the application's classloader.
This essentially leaks the application classloader and therefore
all classes that it loaded.  If the application is stopped and
restarted frequently without restarting the server, this could
lead to OutOfMemoryErrors.

Problem conclusion

The fix for this APAR is to explicitly remove the cached
application metadata when the application is stopped.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 17.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
