PI84973: ALLOW WASPREUPGRADE TO WORK SPECIFYING USERINSTALLROOT AS SECOND POSITIONAL PARAMETER

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Currently WASPreUpgrade requires the WAS install root and the
name of a profile to collect. WebSphere to Bluemix Migrations
will not have this information, but will have the user install
root, which WASPreUpgrade can transform into what it needs to
    collect the old profile.

iSeries allows the second parameter to be specified as the
USER_INSTALL_ROOT directory. Provide this same capability for
    the distributed platforms.

Problem conclusion

  • When specifying the second parameter as the USER_INSTALL_ROOT,
we need to normalize the parameters to be the WAS_INSTALL_ROOT
and the profile name for the -oldProfile parameter.
