Error description

  • When using SIB Link to transfer messages from one cell to
    another one, if the message is large or a mix of message
    priorities are used, performance issue is observed. Messages
    will be sliced into chunks and the order could be disrupted,
    which might cause receiver unable to reconstruct the message.

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    * Server who have applications that *
    * are sending large messages with a mixture *
    *                  of different priorities.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Throughput performance can be reduced *
    * as the frequency of different *
    *                      priority messages increases.            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If large messages (which will be sent as a number of segments)
    are sent with varying priorities, then parts of the higher
    priority messages can "overtake" parts of lower priority
    messages when being sent from the client ro the Messaging
    Engine. This can result in some messages being delayed as they
    have to be resent after the segment sequence is interrupted.
    The resends can make the problem worse, so the problem can
    become exacerbated over time.
