Error description

  • Although we deploy an EJB application which has
    "remote-home-binding-name" setting in ibm-ejb-jar-bnd.xml,
    admin console
    (Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise
    applications >
    app_name > EJB JNDI names) selects "JNDI name for all
    interfaces" for the
    bean. "JNDI name for specific interfaces" should be selected.

    If we click "OK" with this unexpected selection
    unintentionally, the
    bind information of the remote-home-binding-name setting will
    be lost.

Local fix

  • Select "JNDI name for specific interfaces" every time when you
    make any changes on this page.

Problem summary

    * message binding panel, the jndi name *
    *                      will be deleted.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The cnosole code was only looking for local home jndi name
    when setting the radio button indicating local/remote home is
    being set.

Problem conclusion

  • The console code now checks for both local AND remote home
    jndi names when setting radio buttons so that bindings are not
    accidently deleted.
