  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The health policy log message for garbage collection
    percentage
threshold exceeded is issued as a warning message but
    without
the message id (WXDH6022I). This message should be issued
    as an
informational message and include the already defined
    message
id of WXDH6022I. Furthermore, the WXDH6022I message text
    must
also be enhanced to include the server and node information.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When using a health policy to monitor garbage collection
percentage with WebSphere Application Server, the message
written to the log on the Health Controller process when a
policy threshold is exceeded does not include the associated
message ID of WXDH6022I. The message is also incorrectly issued
as a warning message rather than an information message (as
    indicated by the message id).

The message which does not include the message ID is still valid
and can be used to understand the processing of the system but
lacks the easy to search message ID of WXDH6022I.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected so that when the informational
message is written to the log the corresponding message ID is
also written to the log. The message text has also been enhanced
to specify the server and node that are being monitored which
indicated that the threshold has been exceeded and is correctly
logged as informational (rather than a warning).

The corrected message will appear as follows:
    WXDH6022I: The current garbage collection percentage of {0}
exceeds the threshold of {1} for server {2} on node {3}.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 8.5.5.13 and 9.0.0.6. Please refer to the Recommended
    Updates page for delivery information:
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980

Temporary fix

  • No workaround is available. However the message without the ID
still includes the necessary information to indicate the
    threshold that has been exceeded.
