APAR status

Error description

• Attempting to create a web server from the console
  Servers>Server Type>Web Servers
  
  There is no template selection for  Sun Java System.
  

Local fix

• Work around:
  cd {WAS_INSTALL_PATH}/profiles/dmgrprofilename/config/templates/
  servertypes/WEB_SERVER
  Save a copy of the template-metatdata.xml file
  Edit the template-metadata.xml file
  Locate PropertySet_341
  Modify the line that says
   <properties xmi:id="Property_341" name="name"
  value="SUNJAVASYSTEM"/>
  to
  <properties xmi:id="Property_341" name="name"
  value="SUNJAVASYSTEM_85X"/>
  Save the changes
  Restart the DMGR.

  When trying to create a web server of the "Sun Java System" type
  from the Administrative Console, by accessing:
  Servers > Server Types > Web Servers > New
  The option to create a web server definition with the "Sun Java
  System Web Server" type is not available.
  Doing the equivalent with a wsadmin command, would have the same
  problem.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was fixed to enable the creation of a web server of "Su
  Java System Web Server" type.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 9.0.0.8.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
  page for delivery information:
