    ****************************************************************
When multiple editions of an application are installed using
the WebSphere Application Server application edition support,
and references are defined in the java:app naming context,
then JNDI lookups may fail with the following error:
CWNEN0030E: The @Resource factory encountered a problem getting
the object instance myTestUserName binding object. The
    exception message was: Context:
    DevCell01/applications/com.ibm.ws.AppNameSpaces/TestApp/root,
name: env/myTestUserName: First component in name
    env/myTestUserName

Problem conclusion

  • When multiple editions of an application are installed, the
resource reference processing code of the WebSphere
Application Server is not properly binding java:app resources
into JNDI. This support has been updated to properly support
the edition feature. java:app resources will now be available
    in JNDI.
