APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Prior to IBM WebSphere Application Server v8.5.5.13, able to
    renew wildcard certificate. After apply fixpack 13 and renew
    the self-signed wild certificate, getting an error.
    
    For example,
    java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException: Dangling meta character
    '*' near index 0 *.ibm.com
    
    This happens with wsadmin script or in WebSphere Application
    Server admin console.
    

Local fix

  • Undo apply fixpack 13

    ceritificate (CN name starts with "*" character), the
    certificate renewal task would fail.
