Error description

  • WAS 9.0 Base installed and trying to install an application
    through the HTTPAdmin interface.

HTTP Admin, select the WAS 9.0 server and then click 'Install
New Application', then 'Application is contained in a WAR file'.
Browse to the location of the .war file on the IFS and then type
the context root then click Next.

    Error:
Error: There were problems accessing the specified EAR/WAR file
/home/CWATCHAL/RCMLAUNCH110T.war. Make sure the EAR/WAR file is
on the system and try the request again

Local fix

  • We just completed the testing with workaround, Steps:
     1. QSH, go to $WAS_HOME(v9)/properties, backup the file
        WebAdmin.properties
        example: cd
        cd /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V9/Base/properties
        cp webAdmin.properties webAdmin_orig.properties
     2. edit the webAdmin.properties
        example: CL command, wrklnk
    '/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V9/Base/properties/webAdmin.
        properties'
        2 to edit the file.
     3. Modify the jar name. commonly, the
com.ibm.ws.prereq.ow.asm.jar is at end of the properties
        file.
Change the jar name from com.ibm.ws.prereq.ow.asm.jar to
        com.ibm.ws.prereq.asm.jar, remove "ow."
        F3 to save and exit.
Double check the com.ibm.ws.prereq.asm.jar file should be
        able to find in
        /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V9/Base/plugins
     4. restart Admin4
        Try to deploy again
