Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server                                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Bean Metadata was injected into *
    * interceptors and decorators for Java *
    *                      EE components                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Some @Intercepted and @Decorated injection points are
    unexpectedly non-null when intercepting or decorating
    non-bean EE components.
    As per the CDI spec Interceptor and Decorator instances
    associated with Java EE components that are not considered
    beans (as defined by this specification) cannot obtain
    information about the beans they intercept and decorate.

Problem conclusion

  • We no longer associate Java EE component objects with a
    creational context; this means that CDI now correctly
    recognizes that these are not beans and does not incorrectly
    inject @Intercepted and @Decorated in these cases

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 9.0.0.8 and WebSphere Liberty 18.0.0.2. Please refer
