• During server shutdown a CWOBB9999E error message is logged
  in SystemOut.log referencing the following stack:

  at
  com.ibm.ws.bbson.interest.InterestManagerImpl$InterestAlarmL
  istener.alarmWork(InterestManagerImpl.java:1165)
  at
  com.ibm.ws.bbson.interest.InterestManagerImpl$InterestAlarmL
  istener.alarm(InterestManagerImpl.java:1068)
        at com.ibm.ejs.util.am._Alarm.runImpl(_Alarm.java:151)
          at com.ibm.ejs.util.am._Alarm.run(_Alarm.java:136)
  at
  com.ibm.ws.util.ThreadPool$Worker.run(ThreadPool.java:1892)
  
  The NullPointerException occurred because when the shutdown
  sequence executed BBSON was running an alarm thread
  responsible for broadcasting bulletin board messages over
  P2P/SON and P2P/SON was already down when BBSON tried to
  interact it. There is no side effects to this condition
  because the messages that would have been sent are thrown
  away when BBSON itself shutdown and cancels all of its alarm
  threads.

Problem conclusion

• The BBSON code was altered to avoid encountering the
  java.lang.NullPointerException during shutdown when one of its
  alarm threads is running simultaneously.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
  packs 8.5.5.14 and 9.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended
