PK62518: USER GETS UNAUTHENTICATED RETURNED INSTEAD OF THE GUEST ID IN V6.1 WHEN CALLING AN UNPROTECTED ENTERPRISE BEAN

Error description

When calling an unprotected EJB in WebSphere V6.1, user is
getting 'UNAUTHENTICATED' returned, where as in V6.0, WSGUEST is
returned.  With security tracing enabled the following can be
seen for the user's caller subject:

Local fix

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unprotected requests run on behalf of   *
*                      user UNAUTHENTICATED rather than        *
*                      WSGUEST.                                *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Unprotected requests run on behalf of user UNAUTHENTICATED
rather than the System Authorization Facility (SAF)
unauthenticated user identifier which defaults to WSGUEST.

Problem conclusion

The code was corrected to use the SAF unauthenticated user id
as it did in WebSphere Application Server V6.0.1.

APAR PK62518 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.21 of WebSphere
Application Server V6.1 for z/OS.
