PK69319: COMPILATION ERRORS WHEN USING JSP FRAGMENTS

Error description

When using JSP 2.0 functionality, and trying to compile
JSP that use JSP fragments, JSP compilation fails with an
error.

The problem manifest itself when nested tags use attributes of
type JSPFragments. It appears that when the attribute of type
JSPFragment is passed to the inner Tag the translator attempts
to convert the attribute to a String rather than passing the
attribute as JSPFragment.

Here is the compile exception:

Attributes defined as JspFragments are returned as Strings
from EL expressions when they should be of type JspFragment.

Problem conclusion

Corrected code so that expressions which resolve to an
attribute that is a JspFragment are returned as JspFragments
objects.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
