Error description

When deploying an Enhanced Enterprise Archive (EAR) file,
it causes corruption of the AppServer profile and deletes
the InstalledApps directory, and applications. It also wipes
out the entire AppServer profile bin directory.

This issue only happens during application deployment if
"Directory to install application" is empty and "Process
Embedded configuration" is checked.

Also the binary URL in the deployment.xml is set to null or
empty. If binary URL is set to installedApps location.

Local fix

During application deployment "Directory to install
application" is set to installedApps location, problem
can be workaround

*                      a null or empty binariesURL attribute   *
*                      in the embedded deployment.xml file     *
*                      will wipe out the contents of the       *
*                      profile root directory.                 *

If the binariesURL attribute in the embedded deployment.xml of
an enhanced ear is null or empty, the binariesURL location
defaults to the profile root directory during application
install. The contents of this location are deleted when the
ear is expanded during the deployment process, rendering the
profile unusable.

Problem conclusion

The code was modified to default the binariesURL attribute to
WAS_HOMEprofile_nameinstalledAppsapp_name.ear in this
scenario.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.25 and v7.0.0.5.
