Error description

When a GIOP 1.0 request comes in with no partner version
attached, it picks up the previous request's partner
version (in this case Java 1.5).  This results in the
following error:

java.rmi.MarshalException: CORBA MARSHAL 1213468698&#65517;
Error unmarshaling value org.omg.CORBA.MARSHAL:
Custom format version (2) differs from expected version (1)

The partner version is not reset between requests.

This is not an issue when using GIOP 1.1 as partner version
context was not introduced until GIOP 1.1

The WebSphere Application Server for z/OS suffers a CORBA
MARSHAL exception while attempting to demarshal a GIOP 1.0
request.   The MARSHAL exception occurs because the custom
stream format version used to demarshal the 1.0 request stream
is version 2.  The version that should be used is version 1.

The reason the server used custom stream version 2 is because
the previous GIOP request on the thread was a 1.2 or higher
request that used custom stream format version 2, and the
custom stream format version field was not reset before the
GIOP 1.0 request was received.  Thus the GIOP 1.0 request
picked up the stale custom stream format version used on the
previous request.

Problem conclusion

The code was corrected such that the custom stream format
version field is reset between requests.

APAR PK70395 currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.21 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1
for z/OS.
