APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When creating a data source using the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, if you set a mapping-configuration authentication alias and a container-managed authentication alias, the values are saved to the data source, but they are not copied to the corresponding CMP connection factory. Also, if you click Apply or OK on the data source edit panel, then the mapping-configuration authentication alias on the data source's corresponding CMP connection factory is always changed to DefaultPrincipleMapping regardless of the mapping-configuration authentication alias value on the data source.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V7.0 administrative console * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CMP mapping module problems when * * creating or editing a data source. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A data source that is used in container managed persistence (CMP) will have a corresponding CMP connection factory. The administrative console should keep the data source and its corresponding connection factory security settings the same. However, when using the administrative console, a data source and its corresponding connection factory can get out of sync in the following two ways: 1. On the initial creation of a CMP data source, the administrative console will not set the Mapping-configuration alias or Container-managed authentication alias on the corresponding CMP connection factory. These two aliases will be set on the data source only, causing them to become out of sync. 2. If the corresponding CMP connection factory has a mapping module, then the connection factory?s Mapping-configuration alias is always changed to DefaultPrincipleMapping whenever you use the administrative console to edit the data source. This happens regardless of the data sources Mapping-configuration alias. One thing to note here is that wsadmin does not automatically keep these two objects in sync like the administrative console does. When using scripting, you must set the aliases on both objects.
Problem conclusion
To solve the problem, anytime that a CMP data source is created or edited using the administrative console, the data sources Mapping-configuration alias and Container-managed authentication aliases are copied to the corresponding CMP connection factory aliases. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 7.0.0.1.
