Error description

If WebSphere Application Server security has been set to use a
standalone custom registry, this can cause a
NullPointerException to be seen on the Administrative User
Roles screen in the administrative console.

*                      Roles screen in the administrative      *

When configuring security in the administrative console, if a
user selects a standalone custom registry, or possibly another
unconfigured registry, the user might see a
NullPointerException when loading or using the Administrative
User Roles screens.  The error is caused because a primary
admin user name has not been setup or saved in the registry.

Problem conclusion

Checking was added in the code to prevent the exception.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
